Notarization of Documents

Notary Public service is usually available at the Adult & Teen Services Reference Desk whenever the Library is open. There is no charge for our Notary service. Please schedule an appointment or contact library staff before you come in, to confirm that a Notary will be available. Email the Adult & Teen Services team or call 630-529-1641, ext. 210 with questions or to confirm availability.

Special Instructions

The Notary will ask to see a current, government-issued ID that includes a photo and signature, such as a driver’s license or passport. A Notary witnesses or attests a signature, so please remember not to sign your document in advance.

Please note: The Library is not able to provide witnesses. If your document requires witnesses, we ask that you arrange them yourself ahead of arriving at the Library for a notarization. Additional service guidelines are available in our Notary Public Service Policy.
